Forging can eliminate the as-cast porosity of the metal, weld holes, etc., making the density of aluminum higher. Comparing forging and casting, you will find that the finished cast product will have a feeling of osteoporosis. Forged parts usually have better mechanical properties than cast parts, so forging hubs is costly.
